Setup
In this tutorial, you will learn how to setup an example SmartHandler. For this scenario, an employee wants to "monitor a catch-all inbox and automatically create new Jira tickets in different projects depending on the email recipient." However, if the email subject line contains an existing Jira Issue-Key, they want to update the existing ticket by adding a comment containing the email body, instead of creating a new ticket.
NOTE: As you walk through this tutorial, the screenshots contain settings and text you need to type in to set this up. You can use your own email to test running and pausing the SmartHandler when you finish. Let's get started!
Data Points
In this portion, you will define and create the required Data Points and their regular expressions for our incoming email. We will only need 2 Data Points for our scenario.
Actions
Prior to running your SmartHandler, we need to Create Actions.
Activity
You can see every ticket created or updated if you choose to log tracking in the Activity Log.
