Version 1.2.20 and earlier
Create a two-way integration between JIRA Service Desk (Server) and Splunk that provides a more unified, real-time view across your IT Service Desk and IT Ops teams. Add automatic HipChat notifications for enhanced collaboration.
How It Works
The Real-Time Splunk Connector for JIRA Service Desk works by communicating across JIRA Service Desk (JSD), Splunk, and HipChat through a suite of integrated components.
- JSD add-on — Send JSD issues to Splunk and take advantage of real-time searches and monitoring for service desk activity. Gain insights into service desk trends and detect high-impact problems sooner.
- Splunk app — Trigger JSD issues from Splunk incidents and arm your development with the information and context they need to solve problems quickly.
- HipChat integration — Trigger enriched, real-time alerts in HipChat from Splunk incidents, and monitor Splunk connectivity at a glance.
Automatically turn events into real-time incidents, and make sure the right people know. Now.

Learn how to configure and use the Real-Time Splunk Connector for JIRA Service Desk with our comprehensive product documentation.
- Configuring the JIRA Service Desk Server Add-On — To send JIRA Service Desk (JSD) issues to Splunk, install the Splunk app and the JSD add-on. Then, use the setup wizard in JSD to configure your first connection between JSD and Splunk.
- Configuring the Splunk App for JSD Server — Configure the Splunk app to connect to JIRA Service Desk (JSD) so that you can analyze JSD issues and automatically create JSD tickets based on any Splunk saved searches. First, obtain the Splunk ID and the auth token for a user on your JSD instance. Then, configure the Splunk app to connect to JSD.
- Configuring HipChat for JSD Server — You can configure HipChat to receive automatic notifications of Splunk incidents and to monitor Splunk connectivity to JIRA Service Desk (JSD). After the JSD add-on is configured, you can install the HipChat integration for any room. If you want to send notifications from Splunk, you must create an auth token in HipChat.
- Available Features in the Splunk App for JSD Server — The Real-Time JIRA Service Desk Connector for Splunk provides these features to help you gain insight and visibility across your IT Service Desk and IT Ops teams and to manage the app.
- Monitoring Splunk Connectivity to JSD Server — You can check the status of your Splunk server connections on the JIRA Service Desk (JSD) configuration page for the add-on. You can also see any issues that have failed to send in real time, and either resend them or remove them from the queue. You have the option to monitor Splunk connectivity and receive failure notifications in HipChat (requires the HipChat integration). The settings for these connectivity checks are configurable.
