Sending JSD Cloud Data to Splunk

You can send historical ticket data from JIRA Service Desk (JSD) to Splunk, where you can perform detailed analysis. For example, you may want to send historical data after you configure the add-on and anytime you change a Splunk server or registration. You can also see what data has been sent to each connected Splunk server.

Prerequisites

Sending Data to Splunk

  1. Click the gear icon, and then click Applications.
  2. Under Integrations, click RealTime Splunk Connector for JSD.

  3. Click the Registrations tab.
  4. Click the ellipses beside a registration, and then click View Sync Ranges.
    The list shows any previous data sent for this registration.
  5. Click the plus icon .
  6. On the Add Sync Range page, specify what historical data to send. 
    FieldDescription
    From DateSelect the starting date of the time period.
    To DateSelect the ending date of the time period.
    Send Duplicates

    (Optional) Select the check box to resend data that was already sent with another sync range. You may want to use this option if your previous data has been deleted or your configuration settings have changed.

    Leave the check box cleared to send only data that has not been sent previously.


  7. Click Save.
     The sync range is added to the table and marked as not yet synchronized.


  8. To send data according to the settings, click the ellipses, and then click Activate.

Viewing Data Sent to Splunk

  1. Click the gear icon, and then click Applications.
  2. Under Integrations, click RealTime Splunk Connector for JSD.

  3. Click the Splunk Servers tab.
  4. Click the ellipses beside a Splunk server, and then click View Issues.
    The table lists the JSD issues that have been sent to the Splunk server.
