Configuring the Splunk App for JSD Cloud



Configure the Splunk app to connect to JIRA Service Desk (JSD) so that you can analyze JSD issues and automatically create JSD tickets based on any Splunk saved searches. First, obtain the client key and server ID from your JSD instance. Then, configure the Splunk app to connect to JSD.

Prerequisites

  • Obtain administrator access to JSD and Splunk.
  • Install the JIRA Service Desk Add-on for Splunk on your Splunk server.
  • Install and configure the JSD add-on to connect to the Splunk server.

Obtaining Information in JSD

  1. Log in to JSD as an admin.
  2. Click the gear icon, and then click Applications.
  3. Under Integrations, click RealTime Splunk Connector for JSD.

  4. Click the Splunk Servers tab.
  5. Click the ellipses beside the Splunk server you are configuring, and then click View Splunk Details.
  6. Copy the Client Key and Server ID.

Connecting Splunk to JSD

  1. In Splunk, click the app menu in the top left, and then click Manage Apps.
  2. Find the row for the Real-Time JIRA Service Desk Connector for Splunk app, and click Set up.

    Alternatively, launch the app and click the Configure tab to manage the connection to JSD at any time.

  3. Enter the connection details for the JSD instance where you want to create tickets.

    Client KeyUnique identifier for the instance where the JSD add-on is installed. This key enables authentication between your Splunk server and JSD instance. It is unique across all Atlassian products and will never change for a given instance.
    Server IDIdentifier for the connection to this Splunk server in your JSD instance.
    Server URLURL of your JSD instance.
    Project KeyJSD project where you want to create tickets from Splunk.
