You can configure Splunk to automatically send notifications to a HipChat room when a saved search generates an alert.

Prerequisites

To automatically send HipChat notifications from Splunk alerts, add an action to the alert in Splunk.

From the Alerts page, select an alert to open its detail page, and then use the Click to edit actions link.
Alternatively, run a search, and go to Save As > Alert.
At the bottom of the window, click Add Actions, and then select HipChat.
Enter the notification details, and click Save.
The next time the search generates an alert, it will automatically create a notification in the HipChat room.
